Gallery

Since 2012, Galerie Virginie Louvet has been representing French and international, emerging as well as established artists, who work with a broad range of media.

In its programming, the gallery supports a broad spectrum of contemporary practices, and favors a form of dialogue between the various artists it represents, while always respecting their personality
and their uniqueness.

By fostering these encounters between the artists shown in her gallery, Virginie Louvet has opened a reflection in particular on questions of time and of the perception of architecture and landscape

In the course of time, the succession of solo or group exhibits have revealed a taste for artistic practices within a current of contextual art, of experimentation, of the exploration of a territory.

Virginie Louvet also shows a keen interest in the representation of architectural space for its intimate quality, the stories and fictions it contains, how it reveals a personality.

To her artists, she offers occasions to experiment with projects in situ. They can work around the gallery’s specific configuration, present pieces that modify the perception of the space, capture the viewer’s gaze and compose a sort of scene, inviting the onlooker to step in, to discover the works and go through a variety of esthetic experiences in relation to the landscape… It becomes at times a space in which to travel to far away lands.
