In 2018, Virginie Louvet invited Japanese artist Yasuaki Onishi to exhibit for the first time in France. In this installation the artist uses the simplest materials, plastic sheets a black hot glue to create a monumental, mountainous form that appears to float in space. This process of reversing sculpture is Onishi’s meditation on the nature of negative space, or void, left behind.

The artist  has had solo shows throughout Japan and internationally, including at the National Museum of Osaka (NMAO) and the Louisiana Museum in Denmark, amongst others.
